As a wedding photographer I'm asked to create images for large weddings of 300 people all the way down to a few as 50 people. What I find interesting about weddings is that it doesn't matter the size or the expense of the wedding, it's the people that make each wedding memorable. The relationships that exist within that moment and time. That is my goal every time I photographing a wedding is to capture those relationships in the most authentic way possible. Chloe and Curt were married just a week before in Hawaii, but they still wanted to celebrate their love with friends and family back here in Raleigh. So they rented the rooftop bar at Solas to hold their event. It was the perfect place for them to hold their intimate celebration. Even though it was a much shorter timeline than most weddings, I still began with getting ready images and photographing the details. Chloe wore a beautiful wedding dress that was elegant and at the same time allowed her to party the night away. Curt sported the classic tuxedo and bow tie. They looked like they could have been going to the Academy Awards. Clothes are so important to images and looking your best always makes for better images. After photographing the details and doing some individual portraits in their home, we headed to downtown Raleigh. We didn't know exactly where, but in my experience as a professional photographer, all I need is good light to create great images. The light was perfect right on the sidewalk walking from the parking garage to the venue. We took about 15 minutes and then headed to the venue. It was a beautiful evening and the views from rooftop bar were spectacular. Thanks to Chloe & Curt for choosing us to photograph their wedding celebration and please enjoy some of the images we created for them.
