OUR STYLE & APPROACH
Our philosophy on photography can be best described as vibrant, environmental, and photojournalistic. We regularly incorporate advanced off-camera lighting techniques which helps capture dramatic, bold images to distinguish our images and “wow” you, your family and friends. A photojournalist at heart with an eye for visual storytelling. Our photos are timeless and we want you to look back at your photos ten, twenty, thirty years from now and remember the amazing moments of your day.
Not only do we place a strong emphasis on creating amazing pieces of art, we strive to help aid in creating a fun, professional experience even when the wedding details don’t always go to plan. This means being prepared for any lighting situation, inclement weather or any other challenging obstacles that may occur. We walk into every wedding with a “game plan” and know when it’s appropriate to take a step back and capture moments as they happen, or when we need to be more assertive and take control of a situation (such as posed family portraits). With literally hundreds of weddings shot over a twenty-year career, you can trust us to always capture the moment.
Why choose Sean True Photography?
Wedding Photography is one of the only tangible goods you can keep forever from your wedding day, why not look for the best? I want your wedding experience to be a photographic journey with compelling images that will make you, your family and friends say “WOW”! I use all my photography skills to make your wedding photos unique, special and full of emotion. If you’re looking for the best experience that is both professional and fun then you need to look no further than Sean True Photography!
Just as important as the photography itself, I take pride on delivering exceptional service and creating an easy-going and stress-free experience. I’ll help you with every stage of the planning process and I'm always available to talk about ideas and your wedding timeline should it be via phone, text, email or in-person. By using me as your photographer, you have selected a unique wedding photography experience with images that will retell the story of your special day in a way no one else can capture. I take an artistic approach to create bold and vibrant photos using both environmental and photojournalist techniques to capture real moments and emotions. I started my career as a documentary photojournalist and I take a similar approach to wedding photography capturing candid, non-obtrusive and real photographs. You’ve worked countless hours creating your dream wedding, so all the details from your special day that you have crafted, I will be there with a camera to make sure they are captured forever. Whether it’s remembering the cake or the table decorations, or seeing the first kiss again, I’m ready with my camera so you will never forget the details, the big and the small!
Next, I’m a full-time professional photographer. That may seem like an obvious point, but it’s really not anymore. You have enough to worry about without having to worry about your photographer and with me you are in good hands, start to finish. I use the very best equipment, I'm fully licensed and insured, and deliver in a timely manner. Professionalism is a dying concept as the market becomes saturated with people who don’t take the steps necessary to insure they can deliver great images every time. Whomever you choose to be your wedding photographer, even if it’s not me, make sure they are a reputable professional so there won’t be any surprises.
Then there’s certification. Only 6% of the photographers in the Professional Photographers Association of America are Certified Professional Photographers. It’s not easy. There’s a big written test with about 100 questions and then you have to submit images for peer review by other certified photographers who decide if you’re good enough. It’s pretty intense.
Reputation is important. I’m an award-winning photographer both Internationally and locally. I'm a proud member of The Professional Photographers Association of America and Professional Photographers Association of North Carolina .
Life can be pretty hectic and it’s tempting to just ask a bunch of photographers for quotes and “pick a price.” Don’t give into temptation. You need to see the albums and products to compare their quality. See, touch and feel the products. We welcome you to do that with our products and we stand behind ours for life. You also need to meet your photographer and make sure you are comfortable with she/he because she/he will be with you all day on the biggest day of your life.
Last but not least...I'm someone who loves to laugh, dances awkwardly at weddings (yes, I sometimes get caught up in the shenanigans), loves great coffee (black please), local craft beer (the hoppier the better) and North Carolina BBQ (just the meat, no buns please). So if you liked what you've seen and read, then let's talk over a coffee or a craft beer.
Cheers! Sean
